Privacy policy

The short version: the planner works in your browser, your measurements stay on your device, and this site does not use tracking cookies, analytics or advertising.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by the operator of this website. You can reach the operator through the contact page.

What this website does not do

  • It does not require or offer user accounts.
  • It does not set cookies.
  • It does not use analytics, tracking pixels or session recording.
  • It does not currently show advertising.
  • It does not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers: all assets are served from this website.
  • It does not sell or share personal data.

Measurements and plans

All calculations — sightlines, heights, widths, coverage and position search — are performed by JavaScript running in your browser. The measurements, names and notes you enter are not transmitted to this website’s server or to anyone else.

To make the planner convenient, your browser’s local storage (storage on your own device, similar to a cookie but never sent with web requests) keeps:

  • your current working plan, so it is still there when you return;
  • plans you explicitly save with “Save plan”;
  • whether you hid the short “How it works” guide.

This information stays on the device and in the browser where it was created. You can delete individual saved plans with the “Delete” button, start a blank plan at any time, or remove everything by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage, the planner still works but cannot remember plans.

Share links and exported files

“Share link” creates a web address that contains the measurements of the current plan (and the plan and observer names). These values are placed after the “#” sign of the address, a part that browsers do not send to web servers when the link is opened. Anyone who has the link can see the plan, and any service you use to send it (for example an e-mail or messaging provider) may process it under its own terms. Only share links with people you choose.

“Download image”, “Export plan file” and “Print / Save as PDF” create files on your device. They are generated in your browser and are not uploaded.

Hosting and server logs

Like any website, pages are delivered by a web server. When your browser requests a page, the hosting infrastructure receives technical information that is necessary to deliver it, such as your IP address, the requested page address (without the “#” part), the time, and your browser’s user-agent string. Hosting providers typically keep such logs for a short period for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. This website does not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Future changes: analytics or advertising

The site is prepared so that privacy-respecting analytics or advertising could be added in the future. Nothing of the kind is active today. If that changes, this policy will be updated before such services are enabled, describing what is collected and by whom, and consent will be requested wherever the law requires it — for example before any non-essential cookies are set for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.

Your rights

Because the operator does not collect or store the data you enter in the planner, there is normally no personal data held about you to access, correct or delete. Data in your browser’s local storage is under your control, as described above. If you contact the operator, the information you send is used only to reply. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Californian and Canadian privacy laws) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Children

The site is a general-audience planning tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date.
